The event is aimed at English-speaking residents of Lublin who want to learn about Polish literature and culture. Aspects of literature are extremely important as literature is inseparable from culture when learning about any country. It is literature that introduces us to the world of customs, stories close to one's heart, struggles and vicissitudes of everyday life as well as important and complex topics.
Dr Marta Komsta teaches English literature at the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Her main area of interest is British and American speculative fiction, utopia and dystopia in particular. She is the author of Welcome to the Chemical Theatre. The Urban Chronotope in Peter Ackroyd's Fiction (2015).
