March 21 is a difficult day to celebrate: there are so many occasions that you don't know how to accommodate them. Which is why we came to help!
Lublin poetry truancy (for everyone) was created to celebrate:
first day of spring,
truant day,
world poetry day
if we already know each other, you know perfectly well that we couldn't miss such special circumstances to do something with a bang, and if we don't know each other, then we say hello
from this mix of opportunities and ideas of the creators of the rewers podcast, the professionalism of the Heuresis Foundation and Baobab's hospitality, we had a pretty good schedule for the day, so if you're going to play truant in Thursday, March 21, then maybe you would like to do it with us?
The plan is:
11:30 poetry walk on the Czechowskie Hills + drowning the madder
13:00 start of the spring clothes exchange at Baobab (the exchange will last until the end of the day)
18:00 - premiere of the zin Brokat #2 in Baobab
poetry walk on the Górki Czechowskie:
you may ask: what is this poetic walk anyway? this is a walk invented by Poznań
collective of people - we go around with a symbolic microphone and read poems (and more!) out loud.
we chose Czechowskie Hills, because where in Lublin can you welcome spring if not in this precious, natural space? our walk will also be an opportunity to learn more about the hills, and because the Czechówka River flows nearby, this is where our ecological madder will land to say goodbye to winter (important: madder can be made only from plant elements and we aren’t going to set her on fire. you can take your own similarly constructed puppets and throw it to water)
spring clothes exchange in Baobab Cultural Center
as in the title - nothing to add, nothing to take away. air out your closets and bring in everything you don't want anymore in your wardrobe. maybe you have something which deserves a second life? or maybe you want to come check if someone brings something that catches your eye. summer dresses, colorful tights or glitter hats - absolutely anything is allowed. to take part in an exchange, no you don't have to bring anything or take anything out - you can just come and say “hi”, chat with us, drink some tea and cake and give a high five. the event is related to touch and bodies, which were an important element of the premiere of zin “Brokat” #2.

maybe you already know, or maybe you're just about to discover - "brokat" is the most shiny zin in Poland created by Ola Kanar and the girls from the rewers: Asia Jastrzębska and Kasia Kozak. in a friendly space of Baobab, next to a multilingual library and hangers with many clothes from the exchange, they will tell you how zin Brokat #2 was created and, together with several authors, they will read all of the published texts out loud.
a poetry slam is a special type of competition in which the audience decides who will win, a participants present their own poems. details of the slam that will take place as part of the celebration of lublin poetry truancy can be found in a separate event.
